Maybe your teenager has stopped talking to you. Maybe the anxiety you used to manage now runs the whole day. Maybe you’re grieving, newly sober, or just tired of feeling like this. I’m Dara, a therapist in Media, PA working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I help people with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, grief, adjustment disorders, substance use, emotion regulation, and life transitions like divorce, a move, or a new diagnosis. I offer in-person sessions in Media and online therapy throughout PA. I’m accepting new clients.

My work is trauma-informed and strengths-based: we start from what already works in your life. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to shift the thought patterns feeding anxiety and depression, and Motivational Interviewing when you feel two ways at once about a change. With kids, I use play and art so they can show me what they can’t yet say.

The first session is a conversation, not a worksheet. We talk about what brought you here, what you want to be different, and whether I’m the right fit for you. Parents, partners, and siblings are welcome in the room when it helps.

I provide therapy for adults who may find themselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the person that they once were or want to be. Life experiences, relationships, and difficult transitions can shape the way you view yourself, often leading to self-doubt, anxiety, and patterns that no longer serve you.

With the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), among other modalities, I will help you assess the stories that you tell yourself, challenge your unhelpful thought patterns, and help you develop practical skills to navigate life’s challenges. Together, we will work to build self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful change.

My goal is to help you gain confidence in yourself, navigate life’s transitions with greater ease, and move toward a life that feels more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling.

I provide therapy for kids, teens, adults, families, and couples who feel overwhelmed by the symptoms of anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma responses, ADHD, and life stressors. Oftentimes these issues interfere with daily functioning and leave us feeling out of control. For kids and teens, these issues can show up in other ways like non-communication with parents, withdrawal from activities, or a dislike or refusal to go to school. I use evidence-based and client-centered approaches to help you build insight into what is going on inside of your mind and to develop practical strategies to manage your symptoms. We will work together to gradually face the thoughts, feelings, and situations that are keeping you stuck.

I draw from traditional talk therapy, like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and other strength-based approaches to help you make sense of what’s going on and start feeling more comfortable, and like yourself, again. My sessions are laid-back and collaborative — no pressure to have it all figured out.

Therapy can have a lasting effect in reducing distressing symptoms, improving emotional regulation, and increasing confidence in managing challenges independently.
